Alex Luck is a Brisbane-based analyst specialising in maritime security and naval force posture. He has covered the evolution and new developments of the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) for Naval News and written on major Royal Australian Navy programs. Since 2025 he has also contributed to the German defence publication Hartpunkt on Indo-Pacific security developments.

The event allows Defence people to connect with the Brisbane community, by opening a section of the barracks to the public. This year is especially important as we celebrate Army’s 125th birthday, attendees will be able to view equipment and historical displays, capability demonstrations, musical performances and fireworks.
